Chamber Committees

Your chamber offers dozens of volunteer positions on committees, sub-committees, task forces and boards and would love to add you to the rosters. The opportunities are broad – at any given time, nearly 600 volunteers are engaged. Please take a moment to learn more about the committees and volunteer opportunities available in the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Ambassador Club

Assists the Chamber with retention of Chamber memberships by maintaining relationships with existing and new member companies. Committee member responsibilities include Goodwill calls, new member reception calls, networking events, and retention calls.

Audit and Finance

The Audit & Finance Committee is the oversight for the development of information pertaining to all financial and payroll record keeping systems, and policies & procedures. The committee meets at least five times a year.

Board of Trustees

Made up of up to 50 community business leaders to carry out the business of the Chamber according to our Bylaws. Meets quarterly during the months of February, May, August and November.

Breakfast Briefing

This program assists members by providing timely, focused and cost effective information. The briefings are held the 2nd Friday of the month, excluding December, where Regional CEO’s share business successes and strategies. Committee member responsibilities include selection of CEO speakers, event logistics and evaluation of attendee surveys.

Business and Economic Development Oversight

Exists to review and provide guidance for the economic development, workforce development and research activities of the Chamber. The objective is to achieve an understanding of the economic trends facing the greater Dayton region.

Provides business-to-business networking opportunities that assist the members’ ability to expand their customer base. Each event provides the opportunity to experience many premier locations in the region while making valuable business contacts, entertaining customers or rewarding employees.

Committee member responsibilities include event logistics and theme.

Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Steering Committee

The Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council enhances a safe and healthy environment in the workplace through education, networking, Information Systems, and advocacy. The Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council board is responsible for overseeing the operations of the safety programs offered by the Chamber.

Energy and Environmental Committee

The volunteer members of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Environmental Committee strive to support and promote safe and environmentally responsible business practices through information exchange, business recognition, and the promotion of good public policy initiatives at the local, state and federal levels.

EPI Chamber Fondation Board of Trustees

Exercises the powers of the Board of Trustees as defined in the Bylaws. Reviews the activities of the Education & Public Improvement (EPI) Foundation, approves policy decisions and actions, and approves & monitors budget, grants, awards, and designated fund activities. The committee meets approximately once per quarter.

Executive Committee

The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee is made up of the officers of the Board of Trustees and at least 3 other Trustees. It shall possess and exercise the powers of the Board of Trustees between meetings of the Board.

Executive Women's Council

The volunteer members of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Executive Leadership Council strive to increase support for women in executive leadership roles by providing peer to peer networking, education and professional growth opportunities.

Generation Dayton Steering Committee

The feedback and recommendations received by this committee ensure that the events and activities related to Generation Dayton (GenD) support the mission and strategic objectives of the Chamber.

Golf Outing Committee

Responsible for recruiting financial resources necessary to maintain the quality level of programs and services. The event provides a wonderful format to network and entertain clients. The committee meets approximately 20 times a year.

Governance Committee

Acts as the oversight for the development of a plan to ensure the continued elected or appointed leadership is in place as well as written guidelines by which the Chamber will conduct business.

Leadership Dayton Curriculum Review

Each year, the Leadership Dayton class selects a class project to be completed before graduation in June. This committee regularly reviews that curriculum.

Leadership Dayton is a premier leadership development program designed to identify, educate and motivate a network of community leaders and increase their capacity to serve the Dayton region. This committee is devoted to retaining and boosting membership.

Acts as the oversight for planning and implementing an ongoing marketing and communications program that meets Chamber membership retention goals and ensures an effective internal communications program. Committee meets quarterly.

The Minority Business Partnership (MBP) enhances a diverse and inclusive environment for businesses in the region through partnership, networking, and advocacy. This committee represents the Dayton region business community and helps ensure the strategic objectives of MBP are achieved.

Membership Oversight

Acts as the oversight for development and implementation of the policies and procedures pertaining to the retention and growth of membership in the organization. The Committee meets quarterly prior to the Chamber’s Board of Trustees meetings.

Members of the Military & Federal Government Affairs Committee are responsible for providing guidance to the Chamber’s public policy staff on a wide range of local, state and federal issues that are important to the future success of Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Committee is responsible for recommending positions and strategizing the Chamber’s advocacy efforts on a wide range of business-related public policy issues. The committee supports initiatives that foster a strong economic climate and encourage business growth and development.

Volunteer Activation Committee

This committee was formed to ensure that the volunteer experience is productive and enjoyable and the volunteers are recognized for their efforts. The Chamber works with more than 400 volunteers on an annual basis and it is important not to overlook the significant impact our volunteers provide to the Chamber.
